SONG OF NOW

L’ Via
Hija de Miranda
Tu Apellido se cambió
L’ Via
Sin Ojos me quieres dar
Una historia sin mi madre
Solo tengo que decirte
El dolor de noche dice
Solo se quedo el vestido
Le lave la sangre

L’ Via
No dejes de descansar
En la calle caminas
Quien te va a perseguir
L’ Via
Te quieren matar
Dientes de Machete
Cabezas de gallo

L’ Via
Durmiendo en paz
Abre los ojos
Todo cambiará
L’ Via
Soñado de venganza
Y yo te lo juro
Lo van a pagar
Blackmailed, she fell off every mountain
The ones they tightly wrapped in tape
In her eraser sang the guilty
As it made the best mistakes
And with every body that I find
And with every claymore that they mine
I won’t forget who I’m looking for
Oh mother help me I’m looking for

L ‘ Via
Hija de Miranda
Tu apellido se cambió
L’ Via
Sin ojos me quieres dar
Una historia sin mi madre
Solo tengo que decirte
El dolor de noche dice
Solo se quedo el vestido
Le lave la sangre

Blackmailed, she fell off every mountain
The ones they tightly wrapped in tape
In her eraser sang the guilty
As it made the best mistakes
And with every body that I find
And with every claymore that they mine
I won’t forget who I’m looking for
Oh mother help me I’m looking for
Solo tengo
Una hora
Y me duermo
Terminado
Por veinte y cinco
Años pasaron
Siguen los cuerpos
Aqui temblando
Tome la sangre
Comi el cuerpo
Mis lagrimas
Quiebra el espejo

When all the worms come
Crawlin out of your head
Telling you
Don’t you be afraid
When all the worms come
Crawlin out of your head
Telling you
Don’t you be afraid

Blackmailed she fell off every mountain
The ones they tightly wrapped in tape
In her eraser sang the guilty
As it made the best mistakes
Shark kites got tangled in the moleskin
Urgent plea of escape
A mouth to mouth on the chalkboard
Written in fingernail distaste
And with every body that I find
And with every claymore that they mine
I won’t forget who I’m looking for
Oh mother help me I’m looking for

Blackmailed she fell off every mountain
The ones they tightly wrapped in tape
In her eraser sang the guilty
As it made the best mistakes
And with every body that I find
And with every claymore that they mine
I won’t forget who I’m looking for
Oh mother help me I’m looking for

SONG OF NOW

My life is brilliant.
My love is pure.
I saw an angel.
Of that I'm sure.
She smiled at me on the subway.
She was with another man.
But I won't lose no sleep on that,
'Cause I've got a plan.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw you face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.

Yeah, she caught my eye,
As we walked on by.
She could see from my face that I was,
Fucking high,
And I don't think that I'll see her again,
But we shared a moment that will last till the end.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw you face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.
You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
There must be an angel with a smile on her face,
When she thought up that I should be with you.
But it's time to face the truth,
I will never be with you.

SONG OF NOW

Golden rod and the 4-H stone
The things I brought you
When I found out you had cancer of the bone

Your father cried on the telephone
And he drove his car to the Navy yard
Just to prove that he was sorry

In the morning through the window shade
When the light pressed up against your shoulder blade
I could see what you were reading

Oh the glory that the lord has made
And the complications you could do without
When I kissed you on the mouth

Tuesday night at the bible study
We lift our hands and pray over your body
But nothing ever happens

I remember at Michael's house
In the living room when you kissed my neck
And I almost touched your blouse

In the morning at the top of the stairs
When your father found out what we did that night
And you told me you were scared

Oh the glory when you ran outside
With your shirt tucked in and your shoes untied
And you told me not to follow you

Sunday night when I cleaned the house
I find the card where you wrote it out
With the pictures of your mother

On the floor at the great divide
With my shirt tucked in and my shoes untied
I am crying in the bathroom

In the morning when you finally go
And the nurse runs in with her head hung low
And the cardinal hits the window

In the morning in the winter shade
On the first of March on the holiday
I thought I saw you breathing

Oh the glory that the lord has made
And the complications when I see his face
In the morning in the window

Oh the glory when he took our place
But he took my shoulders and he shook my face
And he takes and he takes and he takes

'06

To start out, yes, I'm still off in the faraway land of St. Kitts.

No, I won't be back by tomorrow. I'll miss school. Yay. I'll be back by Thursday... feh.

So, um, what to say?

- St. Kitts... so far, it's been pretty feckin' awesome. It's hot as a mofo, the mosquitoes are plentiful, (and yet, I haven't been bitten yet) the mountains and volcano and ocean and beaches and such are prettylike, my cousins and aunts and uncles are... interesting... and, yeah. I'd put up pictures so you can see it in all of it's splendor, but the camera is being stupid, so I have to wait until I get home to upload 'em. Even though you could say it's somewhat of an island paradise, I'm somewhatly bored to tears of it by now, so, eh.

Steel drum bands are totally awesome, though.

- Christymas. What did I get? Not much... yet. My parents say that they didn't really have space to put our presents in our (7!) gigantic suitcases... which was understandable, because those suitcases weighed about as much as a small elephant, and, the way that they were bulging, were probably the same size as well. But yeah, so far I got one present, and it freakin' rocks... a PSP. I was kinda thinking against getting one earlier in the year, because I already have an iPod, so there goes the music function of it... but, feh, I wanted one anyway. And I'm glad I did. Emulation + handheld portable device = Chrono Trigger on the go. Hells yeah.
Eh. My dad hinted at a bass guitar at being my other present (and I hope to God he wasn't bluffing or something or other.)

- New Years! No resolutions! But I'll do what I did last year, and list all of the "Best Of" of this year.

3, 2, 1, go.

---
VIDEOS & MOVIES

Best Movie: Considering how I didn't really see that many (shame on me.) I'd have to say the best movie that I saw this year was Ray. It was about Ray Charles, who was like a music god, for one thing. And it garnered new respect in me for Jamie Foxx, who can, somehow, act. (that respect, however, disintergrated once I heard Gold Digger)
Best Old Movie That For Some Reason, I'm Just Seeing Now: The Matrix. The entire Matrix, not just the office building scene. Twas... interesting. It overloaded my geek senses, and I loved every second of it.
Most Watched Movie All Year: Kill Bill. I never get tired of it. Volume 1, of course, because Volume 2 was horrid.
Best Moment I've Seen In A Video: Leeroy Jenkins. Need I say more?
---
MUSIC
Best New Band: Clap Your Hands, Say Yeah. Woah, buddy. It was bold of them to even try a singer who had a style so... different (and by different, I mean that the first time I popped the CD in the car, I was tempted to hurl it out the window after the first verse.) But, they SOMEHOW made all of the vocals and guitar twangyness and synth rippling into a sound that turned out to be absolutely addictive.
Best Old Band That For Some Reason, I'm Just Listening To Now: System of a Down.
WHY DO THEY ALWAYS SEND THE POOR?!
Song Of The Year: The Engine Driver by The Decemberists. When I'm old and wrinkled, and this song and this band are old hat, I will still sit back my 36th generation iPod, and chill and listen to this song.
Album Of The Year: Picaresque by The Decemberists. I was tempted to be like everybody else and declare Illinoise by Sufjan Stevens as the greatest album of ever and all, but eh, Picaresque was the first and possibly only album ever where I got it, listened to it, and went, "Woah. This is awesome." So it wins.
Best Chill Album of The Year: Illinoise by Sufjan Stevens gets this award, instead. There is nothing better than laying on the couch like some lazy old cat, and listening to this entire album. Sure, it will waste a good hour and 15 minutesish, but it'll be the most relaxed hour and 15 minuteish you'll have. Perfect for all-nighters, break-ups, rainy days, and what have you.
Biggest Comeback: So, back in 2000, when I was a titchy little middle schooler, there was a mascot band for MTV. But, they weren't really a band. Or at least, not a band in reality. They were a cartoon band. And they were called Gorillaz.
5 years later, they come back like a hurricane. You can skip way back when to that blog post where I nearly creamed myself when I found the Feel Good Inc. music video, and I imagine that's how all of the old fans of Gorillaz felt.

---

ART AND LITERATURE
Best Book: Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince.
Po' Dumbledore...
Best Old Book That For Some Reason, I'm Just Reading Now: Sharknife. Holy gods of comic bookness, this is (almost) the greatest graphic novel ever created. Action perfectly captured in each frame, awesome protagonist, interesting (if not crazy) storyline... yeah.
Artist of The Year: Craig Thompson. I can't say anymore. The man is a genius.
Best Webcomic: Questionable Content. Romance, comedy, and more pop culture than you can shake a stick at.

---

LIFE
Best Subject In School: Band, sadly, continues to reign supreme.
Best New Mates: Eh. Probably Nick & Savannah. They're both insane in a cool way. Or something. Or other.
Moment of The Year: O-Zone at Queen Of Hearts. Holy Christ, that was awesome beyond all reason. All it needed was strobe lights, glowsticks, and extremely baggy pants, and that would have been the highlight of my life.
Accomplishment Of The Year: Artwork. Ahh, art was just a fleeting dream, a hobby, a habit at the beginning of the year, but now... hm. Yeah. Awesome.
Hopeful Accomplishment For This Year: Okay, yeah, so I said I wouldn't have a resolution, but here's one anyway: Mo' skill with art, music, and writing. Art, obviously. Music, I can do something with that, and I'm having crazy fun with the bass, so I want to hitch up on that some more. Writing, I haven't really written anything for leisure since freshman year... methinks it's time to dust off the pad and pen once more.

---

Aaaaaand that's it.

G'day.

See y'all on Thursday. (hopefully)

~meh!~

EDIT: Proofreading over this, I have just one more resolution. I'm going to stop saying feh or eh or meh every 2 seconds, dammit.

The blog of Richie. Have a nice stay.
