SONG OF NOW

Oh, crazy how it feels tonight
Crazy how you make it all alright, love
You crush me with the things you do
And I do for you anything too, oh
Sitting, smoking feeling, high
And in this moment, oh it feels so right

Lovely lady, I am at your feet
God I want you so badly, oh
And I wonder this, could tomorrow be
So wondrous as you there sleeping?
Let's go drive 'till morning comes
And watch the sunrise and fill our souls up
Drink some wine 'till we get drunk, yeah

It's crazy I'm thinking
Just knowing that the world is round
And here I'm dancing on the ground
Am I right side up or upside down?
And is this real or am I dreaming?

Lovely lady, let me drink you please
Won't spill a drop, no, I promise you
Lying under this spell you cast on me
Each moment the more I love you
Come on, crush me, baby

It's crazy I'm thinking
Just knowing that the world is round
And here I'll be dancing on the ground
Am I right side up or upside down?
Is this real or am I dreaming?

Lovely lady, I will treat you sweetly
Adore you I mean you crush me, and ya know
And it's times like these, when my faith I feel
And I know just how I love you
Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, crush me
Baby

It's crazy I'm thinking, just as long as you're around
And here I'll be dancing on the ground
Am I right side up or upside down?
To each other we'll be facing
My love, By love
We'll beat back the pain we've found, you know it
I mean to tell you all the things I've been thinking deep inside my friend
With each moment the more I want you
Come on, you know you crush me…baby

So much you have given love
That I would give you back again and again
Oh you know, meaning I'll hold you
But please, please just let me always, always

SONG OF NOW

Bones bones brittle little bones
its not the milk you seek
its the sun you need
and the sleek sleek skeleton i hold
where are the hidden folds
wheres the meat that you eat

total boy
tells me stories
sometimes they make me sorry
i need another
i need another
sugar doughnut and muffin baby
this world is going crazy
i think i'm through listening to you

bones bones brittle little bones
its not the milk you see
its just the sun you need
and the sleek sleek skeleton i hold
where are the hidden folds
where is the meat that you eat

gonna make some plans
wait and see
turn it off
turn me on
open your eyes look around you
fuck what you heard
you were lied to

sweetheart
sick body part
sickheart
sweet body part

bones bones brittle little bones
its not the milk you seek
its the sun you need
and the sleek sleek skeleton i hold
where are the hidden folds
where's the meat that you eat

RECOMMENDED LISTENING

Again!

---

Destroyer's Rubies
by Destroyer

Take The New Pornographer's lead male singer, Dan Bejar, and reintroduce him to his previous project, Destroyer, before creating The New Pornographers. Include much witty lyrical worldplay, with Bejar humming and purring words as smooth as silk. Also include skilled guitar playing, dramatic mood changes (the opening, Rubies, goes from a simple little guitar jaunt, building up to a rockish median, and climaxing into a soft, short, and sweet ending) and just some truly addictive songs, and you have Destroyer's Rubies.

---

The Earth Is Not A Cold Place
by Explosions in the Sky

Pitter-pattering drums, post-rock guitars, anthematic tunes, and with no lyrics. Quite awesome. Reminds me somewhat of Mogwai. A perfect sit back and chill album, and not surprisingly, a number of songs from this album were used in movie soundtracks, such as Friday Night Lights.

---

Drum's Not Dead
by Liars

EPIC. This is what I'm listening to right now. And that is the only word that can describe it. The drumplay in this is absolutely crazy, spurring up from a simple rhythmic drum beat in one track, and revving up into a climactic percussive clash in the next (Drum And The Uncomfortable Can comes to mind as having the coolest drum part ever.) The other side of the CD has post-rockish slower songs, like The Other Side Of Mt. Heart Attack (which is rivaling Banshee Beat as best song evar now.)

---

Frances The Mute
by The Mars Volta

At first, I thought this CD was going to be boring. Then I played L'Via L'Vasquez. And just listened. And my ear drums were assaulted with awesome. Sort of a non-emo My Chemical Romance. Only 5 songs on this CD, but they're long as hell (the conclusion track being THIRTY-TWO MINUTES LONG.) Plus, they randomly sing in Spanish too. How sweet is that?

Fox Confessor Brings The Flood
by Neko Case

The female Sufjan Stevens. Also a member of The New Pornographers (along with Bejar) this be one of Case's (many) solo album. She has a skill at songwriting that can be compared, like said before, to Sufjan Stevens, though it seems like her songs are a bit heavier than Stevens'. She weaves stories into her songs about girls being picked on at class and getting fingers chopped off in the factories and so on. And she's not bad to look at, to boot.

HOMYGYODDD SOCCERLOL

So, today was interesting.

School.

And then one bitchin' soccer game.

I'd go into all of the details of the game, but I'll say three things about the Jamacian team that probably contributed to the tied game:

1. Their goalie is fucking huge.
2. Some of them can pull off some tricky shit with those quick feet.
3. Despite their large demeanor, they are somewhat pansy and thus require substitutions every 3 minutes.

Eh. Interesting.

More interesting were the frat dudes behind us.

"BAD CALL REF, YOU SUCK!"
"GET ON YOUR KNEES!"

And Marc's award winning sprint across the stadium. Yes.

Muy fun.

I'm going to sleep now before my eyes completely dry up and fall from my face as ashes.

SONG OF NOW

There'll be time to get by to get dry after the swimming pool
There'll be time to just cry I wonder why it didnt work out
Therell be time to fish fry for letters by yours truly
Yours truly

Someone in my dictionary's up to no good
I never find the very special words I should
So I have another party with a water glass
and I sit on all your actions its a birthing game
and I'll bet he needs a shower cause hes just like me
and the soldiers in the painting know your secret face
Well your parrot told me just how I can make you smile
Gonna let you do your thinking if you need awhile
but what I gave you made him get mad
A little bit funny how a thing like that
Could travel from one mouth in through another
and the next thing you know you gotta hear it from your brother and
The words they sting like a stump of old wasps
Remember when I said go throw the rock in there
and we ran through the woods to our good house
You forgot about the things that he could say like
I dont think that I like you anymore
Well I found new feelings at the feeling store
and I cant find you at our kissing place
and im scared of those new pair of eyes you have

So I duck out and go down to find the swimming pool
Hop a fence, leave the street and wet my feet I'll find a swimming pool
Cause when I'm snuffed out I doubt I'll find a swimming pool
Hop a fence, leave the street and wet my feet I'll find a swimming pool

But I don't wish that I was dead
A very old friend of mine once said
that either way you look at it you have your fits
I have my fits but feeling is good
confusions not a kidney stone in my brain
but if we're miscommunicating do we feel the same?
Then either way you look at it you have your fits
I have my fits but feeling is good

You gotta give a little you gotta get a little bit...
