WELCOME TO REALITY, MR. ROBINSONSo.
What has been up with this past week? It's like every single problem or disturbance from the real world has completely shattered the tranquility of high school student life. Anger, disease, arrests, tempations, stress, depression, death, frustration... every one of these has found some way to squeeze themselves into a space of a mere 7 days. This past week has probably felt like the longest damn week I've ever had to go through, ever. And I'm sure it's not just me. Everyone's had a rought week. Ugh.
- So yes, obviously, with the issue that has had the biggest impact everywhere. I don't know the official word or anything as of now, but the story that I'm getting from the geneneral consensus of people on AIM (which is pretty accurate, I'd assume) is that Mrs. Matkins died yesterday, after being hospitalized for having a severe stroke. All that I can think whenever that thought pops up into my head is an endless string of profanities. Jesus. It's not just the fact that she was our AP Euro teacher. It's the fact that a mere WEEK before all this happened, she was told that she would be Teacher of The Year for Broughton, a title she rightfully deserved. It's the fact that she organized all of these school functions, like Homecoming and CAPS Camp and all that stuff. It's the fact that she worked her fucking ass off to make sure all of our grades and stuff get in, that the college recommendations she was asked to do were written, and yet she still took time out to let us do test corrections, or ask her questions about upcoming tests and so on and so forth. Out of all of the 6.whatever billion people in the world, this had to fall upon her shoulders. That just confounds me.
It's amazing how fast people can spread rumors. Geez. Wednesday afternoon, after I pick up Andrew from his practice thing, there are already rumors flying abound everwhere about Mrs. Matkins in a coma, or Mrs. Matkins died from overdosing, or Mrs. Matkins got murdered or whatever. Jesus Christ, it was mere minutes after news got out about it, and people were turning it into a damned conspiracy plot by mafia pirates to assasinate Mrs. Matkins because she stole their magical acorn or some shit. How these people get information about these events is a mystery as well. Mere HOURS after Mrs. Matkins died, there were already people putting up information in their profiles on AIM or whatever. People that don't even go to our school. Where do they pull it from? How do they get this information before the people AT the school and the people IN her class, and are able to share it?
Was going to write more about other shit that happened in the week, but eh. I put myself out of the mood already.
May she rest in peace.
