I'll give a full birthday update thing later, but now I'm doing a hajillion other things, so kthxbai.
~meh!~
EDIT: Oh yeah, I'll put the VIDEO OF THE POST up.
~ 1985 by Bowling for Soup
We're gonna see these guys tonight! Teh yey.
MORE EDIT: Okay, so.
This blog's been up for three years.
Not a huge accomplishment, but an accomplishment nonetheless. When I made this blog, I thought it'd some stupid crazy time-waster during the summer of sophomore year, to keep me busy. But it's turned into oh so much more than that.
What exactly it's turned into, I'm not sure.
But it's nice to have your own beacon of individuality shining through the thick fog that is the Internet. Especially one that's three years old. Hells yeah.
May it keep shining for many more years to come.
Okay!
So, now to discuss the Bowling for Soup show. By rating each band individually.
Army of Freshmen: Eh, they seemed badass when they came out there, but after a while they pretty much became generic. Their lead singer is... interesting... though. B- Punchline: When they came out, and through the first song, it seemed like the Cat's Cradle runner guys just picked out random people from the street and asked them to play for us. But after they got warmed up, they really started rocking out, especially the main guitarist (who is quite insane.) B Lucky Boys Confusion: Quite sweet. Especially the two guitarists, and especially especially the older guitar dude. He was delicious. Also, the only American band I know of with a main singer that is Indian. A+ Bowling for Soup: THE REASON WHY WE WERE THERE. Of course they were good. The big dude in particular was awesome with his pick flicky-twirly stuff and kpow kpow musket-guitar stuff. Yeah, if you weren't there, you probably didn't understand what the hell that meant. But it was cool nonetheless. A+
NEXT UP FOR THE CAT'S CRADLE: Uhh... iunno who I want to see next. The Clientele is coming to the Local 505 up the street from the Cradle on August 4th, but they're really mellow, and don't know if they'd make for a good live show... same with Eels, who's coming on the 6th. But I definetly want to see Deerhoof on the 10th simply for their WTFness. And the panda song. And the cute Asian singer/guitarist. And the fact that their drummer is FUCKING CRAZY.
I'm that nice black dude who is friends with everyone, who dresses in Roca Wear and Nike, yet lives in the richest-assed neighborhood ever, that listens to things varying from Coltrane to Modest Mouse to DJ Taka, and who is both emo and cheerful at the same time.
In short, I'm just plain crazy.
